The month of August is a busy time in Rabbit Hash, with barn dancing to bikers soaking up the last of the summer’s sun rays our little town is all a buzz. We want to make sure you are well informed of the happenings so you can be a part.
Photography Show opening - August 21st, 6:00pm – 9:00pm
First, The Lowell Lee Art Gallery proudly shows the photographic works of Jeanne Sheridan, John Engelman, Ruby Young, Libby Peace, Barbara Bardes, and Stephen Metz. The show opens with a reception on Thursday, August 21 from 6:00–9:00 but will remain hanging in the gallery until September 14th. If you don’t want to make a special trip for the art show you can catch it during the upcoming barn dance or Old Timers Day festival.
Barn Dance - August 22nd, 7:30pm – 10:30pm
The barn dance which is on the 22nd of August from 7:30–10:30, features the Cincinnati based band, The Medicine Men. They will deliver a “unique flavor” to the barn dance goers. This band is one of Rabbit Hash’s favorites, so come out and experience a little blues, R&B, jazz, and funk as they lay it down for us along side of the Ohio.
Old Timers Day - August 30th, 11:00am–11:00pm
Even though the Old Timers Day Festival only lasts one day, it is definitely a highlight of the year. People from all around come to get a taste of the appetizing food, enchanting bands, and cultural people that inhabit Rabbit Hash on this most special of days. This Old Timers Day marks the 35th year of hosting the event which will take place on the 30th of August, 11:00–11:00. Vendors, a beer wagon, and array of food booths are scattered along the road which is filled with happy people enjoying the ambiance of this little river town as well as, filling their souls with live music. All day long bands from Lexington to Cincinnati take center stage in Rabbit Hash. Here is the schedule for planning your visit.
