After the amazing results of Richard Young's cat scan, he had a biopsy of his tonsil and throat. Are you ready for this? All four cultures came back negative for cancer. We don't know for sure if we have won the war but certainly we are victorious in a few of the battles. I will reiterate the importance all of you have played in Richard's success. Richard continues to amaze me with his physical and emotional strength, his positive outlook about this experience and our future together. The doctors in Lexington didn't just pat us on the back and send us home; they are still interested in doing more tests and follow up visits. Still we are hopeful and headed in the right direction and taking it one day at a time.
Long time Rabbit Hashian, Olvis Marcum, passed away this winter. Olvis lived in
this community for many years and supported the store frequently. You
may have caught site of him on his little motorized scooter. You
always new Spring was around the corner when you saw Olvis zipping down
the road, orange flags flying behind him. Olvis and his wife, Edith, up
until a few years ago grew an amazing garden and were always willing to
share their tomatoes. Our sympathies go out to Edith and to
Olvis....know you will be missed.
Larry Schaffer is another soul to leave us this winter. Although not a
local, Larry was a true patron and Rabbit Hash enthusiast. This is a real loss and
tragedy for those of us who knew his contagious smile and good nature.
A warm welcome to Bobbi and David Brown who have opened their roofing
business in the Rabbit Hash barn. It is nice to have others in town on
the long, cold winter months. More later...
