This is the kind of bad news that really breaks your heart... Richard Young, husband of Rabbit Hash General Store proprietor Terrie Markesbery-Young and father of six-year-old Ruby, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 head and neck Cancer. Richard's condition will require a great deal of medical attention during his fight... And of course it will cost an extreme amount of money too. Bottom line, Richard, Terrie, and Ruby need your help. Friends of Rabbit Hash held a special event on November 3rd and 4th, 2007, to raise money -- but more is needed. Its Lawanna Kimball, Troy's friend, from upstate New York. With it being summer, once again, I am trying to put together a trip to Rabbitt Hash. As I was reviewing your site, I came across your blog in Richard. Terry, I'm so sorry to hear this news. Keep the faith and positive attitude is so important. Dear Richard,
My boss Bruce Carlson was just asking today how he can contact you. I looked on the Rabbit Hash site and tried tracking you down. It was there that I heard about your diagnoses. Aint no doctor going to keep you down! Be encouraged. We will pray and rally. We went to Old Timer's day and had such a fun time. Thank you for including us. Bruce is going to be calling soon. Positive Energy
Teri and Richard,
We are here 24/7 for anything you might need. Food, playmates for Ruby, a shoulder to lean on, an ear to talk to and an open heart. Now's not the time to ask for what you need...just tell us! The one thing we can all do is send positive, healing thoughts...we know Richard can beat this...I've seen him move boulders so I know he can do this!! See you on the 4th! Prayers
Something led me to check out the Rabbit Hash website tonight and imagine my shock to find out about my relative Terrie's husband and his fight with cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. I will forward this info on to the rest of my family and also my friends. My heart goes out to you.
