It is mid-winter and our "Sundays by the Stove" series is in full swing! We have had a lot of great bands so far. Some are returning to play in this old familiar venue and we've also had a few newbies this season.
Gunpowder Creek, a local bluegrass band, celebrated the
release of their new CD a few Sundays ago at the store. The CD is on
sale now and you will definitely want one of these.
Whistlin' Rufus graced our presence with their old timey bluegrass sound.
We also had The Swells (out of Lexington) play here and their old swing sound pleased us all. The Swells suit Rabbit Hash and we hope Rabbit Hash suits them! Their music is difficult to describe because it is so rich and steeped with antiquity. Accordian, standup bass, clarinet trumpet, guitar, and drums is just a partial list of the instruments they play not to mention the fabulous musicians behind each that brought us "easy listening" pleasure.
Barn dances are right around the corner in the spring, but come on out and join us every Sunday to burn up the rest of the winter. By the way, the time has changed -- music starts at 2:00 and goes until 5:00 every Sunday by the stove in the General Store.
