The Swells Had the Crowd Groovin

Friday night completed this season of barn dances in Rabbit Hash. We are moving the music into the store every Sunday starting this weekend. Maybe this winter there will be some special shows in the barn (for those of you wondering why we don't have any more barn dances). Either way there is lots of good music coming your way.

The Swells from Lexington had the crowd grooving. It was a beautiful night which allows folks to branch out onto the porch of the barn and still be able to enjoy the music. That Lexington band just has a sound of their own. I don't know what kind of music it is and maybe that is a good thing, to not be able to put a label on it! It is a sweet, swingy sound. The vocals are delicious, the horn is hypnotic, drumming like a heartbeat and a keyboard that takes you back decades. When the Swells play in the store it sounds like Klezmer but in the barn they had their very own groove. A swell goodbye to season's end.
