"Good morning shoppers.......and welcome to FloodMart! Today's specials
are clearly displayed and conveniently located for your shopping
pleasure. Remember, if you can't find it at FloodMart, then you don't
really need it."
Have you totally lost it? Not really! Just putting a different spin on
the unbelievable harvest of trash and litter recently recovered along
the Ohio River from the Rabbit Hash General store and down along about
three miles of Lower River Road. The staunch, dedicated volunteer force
showed up for the Great American Clean-Up on Saturday morning, April
26th, armed with gloves, garbage bags, and a unified determination to
actually "DO SOMETHING" about the litter along our county roads and
river bank, instead of waiting for someone else to do it.
Despite early morning showers and a look of more rain, these die-hards braved the threats and attended to their mission with such energy and determination that Mother Nature dried her tears and smiled sunshine and puffy clouds for the wonderful lunch provided by the sponsor and organizer of Boone County's segment of the national Great American Clean-Up, the Boone County Public Works Department, Solid Waste Management. The county's Cash-for-Trash program makes a cash donation to area 501c-3, non profit organizations that sponsor clean-up locations and volunteers. This event benefited the Rabbit Hash Historical Society.
Its hard to put into words our thanks and gratitude to Boone County Public Works, the Friends of Rabbit Hash, and all the individual volunteers and associates who took the time out of their busy lives to do something to benefit all of us. Thank You!
"And thanks for shopping FloodMart. Our next big sale will take place on June 21st, 2008 River Sweep, also at our Rabbit Hash location. Be sure to mark you calendars and join us to PICK UP some really great deals."
