Can you believe it? Another year has passed and the 28th Annual Old Timers Day Festival is coming up real soon -- Saturday, September 1st from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. There will be something for everyone...
- Live Music
- Kid's Games
- Arts and Crafts
- Dancers
- Food and Drink
This year is going to be spectacular... There will even be an incredible kids tent with art projects, costumes and other crafts provided by the Ravenwood Center.
Originally created to thank the General Store patrons and to openly
appreciate the "old timers" for what they do for us around here, the
festival has now evolved into a music feast! The music starts early --
at 1:00 PM, and the variety is amazing.
This year's celebration will feature popular favorites such as
StarDevils, Jake Speed and the Freddies, and all the way from Austin
Texas... The Cashman. See the schedule below for more information and show times.
OLD TIMERS DAY SCHEDULE
1:00 to 1:45
Gunpowder Creek
Ben Pedigo who played banjo for Bill Monroe teams up with local Forrest Utley to bring a blugrassy down home sound right on the front porch of the General Store.
2:00 to 3:00
Children's parade and other merriment
3:15 to 3:45
John Lawson
Soloist from Frankfort. Heavenly influenced by Guy Clark and other greats.
3:45 to 4:15
Anna Scala and Friends
They do a little bit of everything including some great original kids music.
4:30 to 5:15
Tupelo Honey
These local Cincinnati girls offer beautiful vocals and excellent musical talent. This is their very first first time playing in Rabbit Hash.
5:45 to 6:45
Jake Speed and the Freddies
A Rabbit Hash favorite! Local singer and songwriter, Jake Speed, has a style all his own and the Freddies are a perfect match.
7:00 to 8:00
The Downtown County Band
Another local favorite playing the best of bluegrass.
8:15 to 9:15
The Star Devils
Red hot rockabilly!! This band just played the last barn dance in Rabbit Hash... The barn was rockin' (REALLY).
9:30 to 11:00
The Cashman
Out of Austin, Texas, The Cashman will be making that traditional Texas blues sound right here in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky!
Rain or shine, we'll be here so come on down! Please carpool if you can. Parking will be limited. Some generous neighbors have donated space for parking about a half mile down river. There will be a shuttle to bring you to the party from the parking area -- if you're in the mood for a hay ride!
