The Lowell Lee Scott Visual Art Center is hosting another art show before old man winter shows his face. This show which opens on Saturday, November 14th, will feature Larry May, an Appalachian artist whose work is shown across Kentucky. Currently Larry's incredible work can be seen at Lexington's Art Place Gallery as part of exhibit called "Kentucky Woods", at the Gateway Regional Arts Center in Mt. Sterling, KY, and also at the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea.
When asked about the process of making art from paint, wood ,and found objects, Larry explains, "You use what you have. This is something I learned early in life growing up in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. The beauty of these objects is still there, I just give them a new usefulness as part of a work of art."
Show dates: November 14 through 28, 2009
Opening Reception: Saturday Nov. 14th from 5-8pm
