Volunteers needed on Monday, November 5th...

"Boone County Solid Waste Management" have agreed to pay the "Rabbit Hash Historical Society" $500 for cleaning up our neighborhood on the Monday after the Benefit for Richard Young through their Trash for Cash program. The Historical Society has then agreed to donate that same $500 cash to the "Richard Young Expense Fund."

The "Trash for Cash" Program pays $100 per mile. In this case, they are donating $500 to clean Lower River Road, Rabbit Hash Hill Road, the riverfront and whatever it takes to clean up after the upcoming two-day benefit on November 3rd and 4th. This will, of course, include all the parking areas as well. But since everyone who comes to Rabbit Hash is usually very considerate, we don't anticipate this to be a huge job.

Still, we do need volunteers! Starting time will be 1:00 PM. Gloves, trash pickers, and garbage bags will all be provided by "Boone County Solid Waste Management." All you need to do is wear some old clothes and show up.

We would like to acknowledge Kelly Chapman and staff at "Boone County Solid Waste Management" for dreaming up such a great idea! And, of course, the "Rabbit Hash Historical Society" for their generous contribution.

Twain had it right...the more I know about dogs the less I like people. I have a photo kissing Junior during a fund raising weekend..I swear that dog knew he was raising money.
