  • History of Rabbit HashSurviving floods and fires...

Little documented history of Rabbit Hash actually survives, primarily because devastating Ohio River floods in 1884, 1913 and 1937 ruined many records. There is still mud in the store's attic crawl space from the historic 1937 flood, and the only reason it is still here is that it's anchored securely to the ground by a series of iron rods.Read More

Small Batch plays in Rabbit Hash

Hello from Rabbit Hash,

This rainy day finds the General Store aglow with warmth, good conversation with some lone tourists and wet dogs drying by the low roar of the wood stove. I can’t believe it has been almost four years since the fire, bringing everyday thoughts of disbelief of the rebuild and rekindling of souls in this town.

The Sunday Music Behind the Stove is going strong. We are about to have our fourth one for the year and that leaves just February and March Sundays! The wintertime sure flies by when you have something fun to look forward to.

I have enjoyed having a few bands from Lexington here the past couple of Sundays. A special thanks goes out to Chris, Warren and Scott for their support, enthusiasm and willingness to make the trek to Rabbit Hash. Chris Sullivan from The Swells always offers something new and unique and last Sunday he brought The Gumbo Hounds to Rabbit Hash. A sweet, spicy cajun sound that was complimented by one of our locals handmade, boudin. Sundays in Rabbit Hash are like church. It is a gathering like none other. It is intimate, casual and warm. I think we successfully cover and please all of our senses and feed appropriately feed our souls in that 3 hour time slot.

On Sunday, January 26th, we're featuring another band from Lexington called Small Batch. Its nice to shake things up with out of town musicians but it is always good to revisit old favorites from Cincinnati, and we are going to this season!!
