As we move into winter and the holiday season, we want to say thank you to all of our Rabbit Hash friends and supporters. We made it through our first summer after the fire; we’ve all shown what community, friendship and resilience looks like… It looks like Rabbit Hash!! The summer brought us more attention than our small town normally receives. It also brought us lots of new friends as many discovered the General Store for the very first time. It was a busy summer, a little hectic at times, but we appreciate everyone that came in and welcomed the General Store back! It was wonderful to watch as people saw the store (sometimes for the first time - often as old friends and customers) and see their faces light up realizing what a wonderful job Ed Unterreiner, his team, the RH Historic Society, and all the volunteers did in bringing the General Store back to life exactly as she was before the fire. Many asked what building burnt as they couldn’t believe this wasn’t the original store.
As exciting and rambunctious as the summer was, the winter brings us back to the warmth of the wood stove with all the camaraderie, conversations, music and friendship that brings. We look forward to seeing everyone gather here on Wednesday and Friday evenings for music jams in the store, or for our annual Music Behind the Stove series which begins the first Sunday afternoon in January (with The Tillers!) and continues with live music every Sunday until spring returns… or just for enjoying long afternoons sitting around the stove savoring the quiet of winter by the river.
We hope to see everyone on Saturday, Dec. 16th, as we kick off the countdown to Christmas at our 6th annual Rabbit Hash Christmas Parade. We will gather at 3:30 and the parade will begin at 4:00 PM. So dress up in your best Christmas costumes, wear your ugly sweaters, decorate the car, ATV, tractor or horse and join the joyous silliness that is Rabbit Hash. Following the parade we will all gather in the General Store for a pot luck dinner with live music by Cadillac and Catfish.
Thank you for all the support you’ve shown us this summer and we hope to see you throughout the winter. Stop by just to say hi and warm up by the fire.
We wish everyone a most joyous holiday season and a very happy and healthy new year.
